Magic Kingdom - Fantasyland - Pinocchio Village Haus

Pinocchio Village Haus is a counter service restaurant offering lunch and dinner options at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It is located in Fantasyland, next to "it's a small world". They do not accept reservations, but they do participate in the Disney Dining Plan. This location features both indoor and outdoor seating options.

If I am to be completely honest, I am not a fan of Pinocchio Village Haus. In my opinion, it is one of the hardest-hit victims of the Fantasyland overwhelm. The last few times that I have tried to stop in for a meal here, I have almost instantly changed my mind (out of fear of losing it while in there) and struggled to find a quick exit. Understandably, Fantasyland draws a huge percentage of the families with little ones in the Magic Kingdom. After all, it is completely designed to hold the interest of and appeal to the smallest of guests. A side effect of this is that the area is excessively crowded, with many excited, scrambling youngsters and very bulky strollers. This is a difficult area to navigate as it is, and Pinocchio Village Haus is pretty central within it - a quick, accessible, affordable location for lunch for those bustling bubbly little people, and their weary parents. Unfortunately, while this environment should demand a more open, spacious venue, it does not. This restaurant, like many at Disney, strives to fill every square inch with a table. Many running children, combined with people dodging them while carrying food-filled trays to tables they can barely squeeze into creates absolute chaos. Making matters worse, the food offerings at Pinocchio Village Haus are not of a quality that would help to redeem these shortcomings. I swear to you... it's like mini Bedlam in there!

The theming of Pinocchio Village Haus aligns with the story of Pinocchio. Surrounded in rich woods, with elaborate storybook murals adorning the walls, this location is reminiscent of Gepetto's cottage. A few coveted tables line windows overlooking "it's a small world". Umbrella covered tables are located in a courtyard alongside the restaurant as well. If temperatures aren't extreme, this is a more comfortable option, in consideration of space.

The Pinocchio Village Haus menu claims to offer Italian favorites, but as an honorary Italian, I have to challenge that claim. The menu consists of flatbread pizzas, subs, a couple of soups, a salad, and a rather pitiful dessert selection. If you are looking for Italian dining options, this would be quite a disappointment, so just keep that in mind. Options are limited, and not exceptional in quality or quantity. Meals will run around $10 per adult guest (before drink or dessert), $6 for kids' meals.

*TOP PICK - I cannot in good faith promote any item at Pinocchio Village Haus as a "top pick". This is not a matter of me being snarky... it's a matter of keeping my reviews and opinions completely honest. Look at it this way, at least you know I'm not being blinded by Disney bribery offers. Hmmm, but I may be open to consider that if Mickey wants to trade a blanket of solid positivism for a night's stay in Cinderella Castle! ;)
