Magic Kingdom - Fantasyland - Gaston's Tavern

Gaston's Tavern is a counter service restaurant offering quick snack options at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It is located in the recently expanded area of Fantasyland, and opened in October of 2012. They do not accept reservations, but they do participate in the Disney Dining Plan. This countryside lodge themed location offers both indoor and (nearby) outdoor seating options.

Fans of the Disney animated feature film Beauty and the Beast will instantly recognize the inspiration for this location. In fact, it's even in the name! Gaston's Tavern was recreated directly from the film. Remember the scene where a rejected Gaston is seeing affirmation of his machismo and appeal amongst surly men and adoring women? Step right into the film yourself and enjoy a man-sized snack or a frothy beverage in this Imagineer-crafted man-cave. Wooden furnishings, along with the macho-est of macho adornments and accents make this a cozy little nook full of Disney authenticity, and a fine place for a brief respite from the pounding Florida heat!

The menu at Gaston's Tavern has a scaled-back menu with no real "meal" offerings. However, you can certainly find a fair smattering of hearty snack options for the whole family here. Menu items include: roasted pork shanks, cinnamon rolls (very similar to those previously offered at Main Street Bakery), bakery items, hummus, fruits and drinks. Everything with the exception of the pork shank ($9.79) is under $5, so it's a budget-conscious stop as well!

TOP PICK - The signature offering at Gaston's Tavern is the new (to Walt Disney World, anyway) and unique LeFou's Brew, named for Gaston's bumbling sidekick. LeFou's Brew is frozen apple juice, blended with a hint of toasted marshmallow for a sweet flavor kick, and topped with a frothy foam made of passion fruit and mango (meant to serve as the "head" of this mock ale. It is a Disney-fied tavern after all!). LeFou's Brew is served in a souvenir goblet or stein for $9.99, but you can forego the fancy keepsake and opt for the beverage only for $4.49
