NEVADA - FERRARO’S FEATURES ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME TASTING, WINE DINNER WITH ITALY’S TOP WINEMAKER, GAJA, OCT. 26


LAS VEGAS (September 2017) – Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar in Las Vegas presents its most exclusive wine tasting and dining event to date on Thursday, Oct. 26, with Italy’s most esteemed winemaker, Gaja. Events will begin at 6 p.m. with a tasting of 12 exquisite Gaja wines (which range in price from $200 - $2,000 per bottle), followed by a four-course wine-pairing dinner with wine pairings at 7:30 p.m.

Located in the Piedmont region, Gaja was originally founded in the 19th century. Angelo Gaja, current president of the company, is credited with developing winemaking techniques that have revolutionized the industry throughout all of Italy. Famous mostly for its Barbaresco and Barolo wines, Gaia now also makes highly rated Brunello and Super-Tuscan varieties. Angelo’s daughter, Gaia, who along with her sister Rossana manage the day-to-day operations of Gaja today, will be the presenter for the evening.

Venues where Gaja wine tastings and dinners are held must follow extremely strict protocols, all designed to ensure the guest has the best possible opportunity to appreciate and learn about each wine. Tastings must take place in a private room, free of visual and acoustic distraction. Seating is classroom-style or U-shaped, and all wines must be double decanted, poured into crystal stemware in advance of the event and set upon tasting mats to identify each wine and vintage being poured. Slide presentations accompany the tasting and guests are supplied with pens for tasting notes and opaque spit cups.

The price for the tasting event is $100 per person, and the price for the tasting AND the dinner is $295, plus tax and gratuity. For those who wish only to join the dinner, the price is $250 plus tax and gratuity.
