The small and slender sharks have a leopard-like pattern that allows them to blend into their surroundings

ORLANDO, FLA. (March 19, 2018) – The best place to get up close and personal with sharks this Spring Break is SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium. Already home to thousands of species of fish, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is excited to announce the arrival of four, juvenile coral catsharks this Spring. These small, slender sharks can reach more than two-feet long when fully grown and are commonly found in the oceans surrounding Southeast Asia. Their leopard-like pattern provides them with camouflage as they swim through their coral reef habitats.

"As an AZA accredited facility, we currently have the coral catsharks in a separate habitat for evaluation and testing before we'll move them into their new home," Andrew Nerness, curator for SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium. "In the interim, we invite guests to come take a look at them during our behind-the-scenes tour, where you can learn more about how we take care of all of our sea creatures and maintain their habitats."

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is home to Orlando's only 360-degree tunnel where sharks, turtles and fish swim overhead while guests and their families walk through. To accommodate additional demand during the busy Spring Break season, the interactive and immersive aquarium is also extending its operating hours. From March 10 to April 1, the aquarium will open an hour earlier at 9 a.m. on Thursdays through Sundays. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit:
