MEET THE CREATIVE PARTNERS BRINGING HALO: OUTPOST DISCOVERY TO LIFE THIS SUMMER


(Atlanta, June 25, 2019) – In about two weeks, Herschend Live and 343 Industries will for the first time bring to life a brand-new way for fans to experience and immerse themselves in the beloved universe of Halo.


Herschend Live and 343 Industries are working with five principal creative partners—three of whom are based in the Orlando area—to bring the multi-million-dollar experience, which will cover more than 250,000 square feet of activities celebrating all things Halo, to life for the first time. Those partners are:

  • Falcon’s Creative Group (Orlando, Fla.): Falcon’s is providing narrative and story development, live-action film production, CG animation, visual effects, motion graphics, sound design, and interactive audio for a wide array of experiences throughout the Halo: Outpost Discovery venue. Among those experiences is “The Ring Experience,” a never-before-seen multi-sensory theatrical attraction that flies you into the universe of Halo.

Magpuri, President/Chief Creative Officer of Falcon’s Creative Group. “Halo: Outpost Discovery represents a truly unique immersive guest experience that enables fans of all generations to engage with and participate in the Halo Franchise unlike ever before. We have had the privilege to not only help bring this universe to life in new ways, but also to contribute expanded lore to this already incredibly rich IP in the form of new characters, vehicles, and environments.”
  • VRstudios (Redmond, WA): For the first time, players and fans can physically step inside the Halo universe and battle it out in a full-motion, free-roaming virtual reality experience. VRstudios has developed Training Grounds, which will enable Halo: Outpost Discovery guests to participate in competitive player versus player combat exercises within environments simulated from the United Nations Space Command’s (UNSC) vast archive. Guests will play as Spartan drones in untethered, free-roaming multiplayer VR as three-person teams, with matches taking place on a close-quarters combat platform engineered to challenge various disciplines such as squad-integrated coordination strategies, spatial awareness in the battlefield, and real-time weapon tactics improvisation.

    “It was our aim to enable players to get that “awe” experience as soon they put on their VR headsets and actually feel what’s it like to be immersed in the Halo universe, in particular, Valhalla, and then battle it out against their friends in a fast-paced and action-packed competitive combat experience,” said Chanel Summers, VRstudios’ Vice President of Creative Development.

    “Casual and hardcore fans alike will immediately recognize some of the most iconic elements in the Halo universe, including Spartan characters, Plasma Pistols, and the beautiful Valhalla environment. The result is an immersive, high-energy VR experience that puts players and fans inside of the Halo universe like never before.”

    Through VRstudios’ close collaboration with the 343 Industries Training Grounds stays true to the Halo universe and lets players fulfill their dream of being truly inside a Halo game.
  • Blue Whale Studios (Atlanta, Ga.): A full service creative studio, Blue Whale is creating larger-than-life characters from the Halo universe for Outpost Discovery, including the Master Chief, a Covenant Elite and, many others.

    Much of Blue Whale’s work centers on film, television and other live entertainment, though it is also skilled in developing work in specialty costume, puppets, high-end art service, beauty and fashion. Past clients of Blue Whale include Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel, Universal and FOX, among many others.
  • Parker Brothers Concepts (Port Canaveral, Fla.): Brothers Marc and Shanon Parker have developed a global following for their creative and inspired work designing and customizing vehicles of all kinds—including, at the request of NASA, their concept for a 2030 Mars Rover vehicle.

    For Halo: Outpost Discovery, Parker Brothers is bringing to reality the Halo Warthog anti-infantry vehicle, one of the most vital vehicles from the Halo universe.
  • Studio 41b (Lake Wales, Fla.): Studio 41b is renowned as among the leading developers of escape rooms, attractions and thematic and scenic designs. Its work has been featured around the world, most notably at destinations including Legoland Resort in Florida and Wilderness of the Smokies Resort in Tennessee, as well as within leading educational and retail developments throughout the country.

Halo: Outpost Discovery offers numerous experiences designed with everyone in mind. Featuring more than 250,000 square feet of activities designed to celebrate all things Halo, this three-day long adventure will begin touring summer 2019, appearing at five major metropolitan areas across the United States in its first year.
  • July 5-7 – ORLANDO – Orange County Convention Center
  • July 19-21 – PHILADELPHIA – Pennsylvania Convention Center
  • Aug. 2-4 – CHICAGO – Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
  • Aug. 16-18 – HOUSTON – George R. Brown Convention Center
  • Aug. 30-Sept. 1 – ANAHEIM – Anaheim Convention Center

For the first time ever, Halo fans will be able to explore The Ring Experience, get up close and personal with a real-life Warthog, battle fellow UNSC recruits in an epic laser tag arena, and experience thrilling in-universe encounters with the latest simulation and VR technologies. Fans can also take advantage of hundreds of game stations to play and compete and explore the storied Halo game series.

Halo: Outpost Discovery attendees can also attend one of the many themed panels, meet creators, hear from special guests and learn how the Halo universe is made, or take part in one of the many available community events to learn how to livestream, gameplay, or build an epic cosplay costume.
