Los Angeles, California – (November 13, 2019) – Van Eaton Galleries has announced their largest Walt Disney World dedicated auction - A History of Disneyland & Walt Disney World. The auction event will take place at Van Eaton Galleries over two days, Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. PT. The extraordinary event will feature the largest collection of Walt Disney World memorabilia ever collected for auction on Sunday, the second session of the two-day event.

Approximately 700 rare items which trace the history of Walt Disney World, the iconic theme park and Walt Disney’s vision, from inception to present day is a first for the renowned auction house and has attracted fans from around the globe. It is the single largest Disney-related auction Van Eaton Galleries has hosted to date. Many of the items are coming to auction for the very first time.  From the earliest documents and conceptual pieces marking the very inception of Walt Disney World, to the extraordinary theme park props, ride vehicles, audio-animatronic figures, hand-painted attraction pieces, documents, remarkable memorabilia, signs, and more, the depth of rarity of the items to be offered at auction exceeds any expectations of auctions past. The auction also features many rare Disneyland artifacts which are featured in the first session of the auction, Saturday, December 7th.

Walt Disney World Resort is the largest and most popular theme park in the world. Twice the size of Manhattan and hosting hundreds of millions of happy guests since it opened, Walt Disney World has become a cultural phenomenon and its fan base spans the entire globe. This historic auction will be live on-site, by phone, and online while also offering fans the chance to watch live via streaming on both days. Highlights include: Two original animatronic “Tiki Birds” from the Enchanted Tiki Room at Walt Disney World. The birds retain all their original mechanics and are actually functional, singing and moving along to the Enchanted Tiki Room Theme Song (Estimate $80,000-$100,000); An original hand-painted “Stretching Portrait” from the Haunted Mansions at Walt Disney World (Estimate $80,000-$100,000) and Original Attraction Posters from Walt Disney World (Estimates range from $5,000-$30,000).

Other highlights include a Star Jets Original Attraction Vehicle from Walt Disney World ($12,000-$15,000); a very rare original ceramic Tile Prototype Artwork by artist Mary Blair for the Contemporary Hotel at Walt Disney World ($12,000-$15,000); It’s a Small World Animatronic Doll (Estimate: $15,000-$20,000); and much, much more.
