Dynamic Attractions unveils the world's first motion base coaster


The Dual Power Coaster suspension creates spin-outs and airtime

PORT COQUITLAM, BC (November 15, 2018) --- A roller coaster capable of doing spin-outs and other racing moves, invented by a ride innovation company based in Port Coquitlam was unveiled this week in Orlando at the global exposition for theme park operators put on by the International Attractions and Amusement Parks Association (IAAPA).

“The Dual Power Coaster the world’s most advanced roller coaster vehicle,” states Hao Wang, President, Dynamic Attractions. “Most coasters are all about the track. That is only half of the excitement in this ride, where the cart itself is powered and moves, creating racing sensations never possible before on a roller coaster.”

PBS and Falcon’s Creative Group to Create Location-based Experiences


ORLANDO, Fla. (November 14, 2018) – Falcon’s Creative Group, the Orlando-based creative services firm specializing in the design and production of themed experiences, is honored and excited to announce a major cooperative agreement with PBS.

Falcon’s will design PBS location-based entertainment (LBE) experiences. PBS’ first foray in the realm of immersive experiences, these LBE venues will offer fun and learning for the whole family, themed around topics that PBS and PBS KIDS are known for, including science, the arts, technology and nature. One hundred percent of the net proceeds PBS receives from this initiative will support PBS’ mission.

Rabbids Team Battle™ features Triotech’s Ground-Breaking High-Capacity Interactive Ride and Ubisoft’s World-Renowned Rabbids Brand

Ernest Yale, Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer of TRIOTECH announced a new breakthrough in high-capacity interactive attractions with Team Battle™. This innovative experience features interactivity, both team and individual play, and ride elements with full 4D effects.

Triotech partnered with Ubisoft, leading creator and publisher of interactive entertainment, to develop the first software to be played with the ride: an epic robot showdown orchestrated by Ubisoft’s fun, irreverent yet irresistible Rabbids. The two industry leaders collaborated closely on developing this interactive experience with Ubisoft leveraging its long-standing expertise in game design and 3D animation.

ZAMPERLA DONATED WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE ATTRACTION TO GIVE KIDS THE WORLD

 KISSIMMEE, FL, November 13, 2018 – Zamperla, one of the world’s leading amusement ride manufacturers, has donated a new ride to Give Kids The World Village (GKTW), the Central Florida nonprofit that provides cost-free wish trips to critically ill children and their families.

Zamperla presented the swing today at IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida. The swing will be on display during the Expo before being installed at GKTW later this month.
The Happy Swing, the company’s signature kiddie ride, can be enjoyed by both children and their parents, and for children staying at GKTW, it has a special component: The ride is wheelchair accessible. This unique and inclusive ride will ensure children of all abilities will enjoy swinging alongside their family and friends.
“The entire Zamperla family has been a treasured partner of the Village for many years,” said Pamela Landwirth, president & CEO, Give Kids The World.  “We are truly grateful for their generous donation and continued commitment to helping us give families a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Their understanding of the special needs of our families, and ingenuity to create something everyone can enjoy, means so much to all of us.  This new swing will be a magical addition to the Village and a wonderful gift for the precious children we serve.”

This is Zamperla’s third ride donation to GKTW. The new swing, along with a train called JJ’s Express and a pedal-powered flyer called Lori’s Magical Flight, provide accessible and magical rides for children at the Village.

Sally Corporation, PortAventura World and Sesame Workshop announce new dark ride at International Attractions Expo

PortAventura World reveals a new mission with Sesame Street in 2019

Orlando, FL - November 13th, 2018 - Sally Corporation, the dark ride specialists of Jacksonville, FL, PortAventura World, one of the largest European family destination resorts, and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, announced a new dark ride for 2019. The new attraction will be the first Sesame Street dark ride in Europe. The announcement was made at the International Attractions Expo with a life-sized animatronic Big Bird on display, telling guests about the new adventure he and his friends are about to embark on.

Continuing PortAventura’s policy of constant investment and the goal of offering new and exciting experiences to visitors every year, 2019 will feature a new attraction suitable for all family members - a Sesame Street-themed dark ride to be located in SesamoAventura, a dedicated Sesame Street area featuring the iconic characters and where children are center stage.

Mobile App Lets Fans Preview ‘The Great LEGO® Race’ With or Without VR Headset

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2017) — A sneak preview of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s upcoming virtual reality (VR) roller coaster adventure is now available through an innovative mobile app that lets fans experience the 360-degree theme park action with or without a VR headset. The Great LEGO® Race opens Nov. 22 at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, followed in Spring 2018 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Germany’s LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort.

Developed under the supervision of Merlin Magic Making, the global creative and delivery division of parent company Merlin Entertainments Group, The Great LEGO Race will transform the three theme parks’ existing Project X roller coasters into a high-octane experience that puts guests in the driver’s seat for a rollicking race against a colorful lineup of LEGO minifigure characters.

SEAWORLD ORLANDO UNVEILS CUSTOM-DESIGNED RAFT FOR INFINITY FALLS

All-New Family Attraction Opening Summer 2018


ORLANDO, Fla. (November 14, 2017) – Today, SeaWorld Orlando revealed the first of 15 custom rafts for its new Infinity Falls river rapids attraction opening summer 2018. The 8-passenger raft features custom theming and décor resembling supplies found on real white-water rafting expeditions. The circular raft design puts riders face-to-face and allows friends and family to enjoy this exhilarating attraction together.

Aboard the raft, riders will embark on an adventure through a lush rainforest environment inspired by some of the world’s most incredible freshwater ecosystems. The new attraction will feature the world’s tallest drop on a river raft ride and allow visitors to experience the feel of exhilarating rapids. The ride will also feature an innovative elevator lift designed to transport the rafts to the top of the ride’s 40-foot drop.

Attractions Industry Legends Inducted into IAAPA Hall of Fame


2017 Inductees Include Philippe de Villiers, Henri and Pamela Landwirth, and Richard M. Sherman 
ORLANDO, Fla., US (Nov. 14, 2017) – The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) today announced the induction of several attractions industry legends — Philippe de Villiers, Henri and Pamela Landwirth, and Richard M. Sherman — into the IAAPA Hall of Fame.  The inductions were announced during the Kickoff Event for IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 in Orlando, Florida. The IAAPA Hall of Fame honors individuals whose work and accomplishments have made significant and lasting contributions to the worldwide attractions industry.

IAAPA Releases Preview of New Rides and Attractions Expected to Open Worldwide in 2018

ORLANDO, Fla., USA (Nov. 13, 2017) – As global amusement industry professionals gather at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017, the premier conference and trade show for the $39.5 billion worldwide industry, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) releases its annual preview of major new rides and attractions opening in 2018 at amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, science centers, museums, zoos, and aquariums around the world.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 Showcases Future of Global Attractions Industry


Exhibiting Companies Provide Sneak Peek of New Products and Services

ORLANDO, Fla., US (Nov. 10, 2017) – The premier conference and trade show for the $39.5 billion global attractions industry — IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 — takes place Nov. 13-17, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. World’s Most Expensive Dress Comes to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando


Orlando, FL (November 3, 2017) IAAPA attendees can see the iconic dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she famously sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy on May 19, 1962 for his 45th birthday gala at Madison Square Garden. The dress will be on display for a limited engagement at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium located at 8201 International Dr. in Orlando, Florida.

IAAPA attendees will receive free admission to view the exhibition if they show their badge November 13-17.

Registration Now Open for Charity Events Benefiting Give Kids The World Village during IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017

Golf Tournament, Motorcycle Ride, and Run and Walk Events Raise Funds to Bring Smilesto Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses 


ORLANDO, Fla., US (Sept. 20, 2017) – IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017, taking place Nov. 13-17, 2017 in Orlando, will host three fundraisers benefiting Give Kids The World (GKTW) Village — an 84-acre, nonprofit resort based in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament, IAAPA Motorcycle Ride, and IAAPA Charity 5K Run and 1K Walk — "Footprints From the Heart" — will each raise money in support of GKTW. Companies exhibiting during the trade show can also donate items to GKTW at the end of the week.

As a long-standing partner of GKTW, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and its members have raised more than $1 million over the course of more than 20 years.

Merlin Entertainments CEO Nick Varney Announced as Keynote Speaker for GM and Owners' Breakfast at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017


(Alexandria, Virginia, US) – The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has announced Merlin Entertainments CEO Nick Varney will deliver the keynote address during the GM and Owners' Breakfast at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017. The Expo is the largest international conference and trade show for the $39 billion global attractions industry. It takes place Nov. 13-17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The GM and Owners' Breakfast is the premier networking event for senior-level attractions industry executives from around the world, including owners, CEOs, presidents, vice presidents, and directors. It takes place Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 8:15 a.m. in the IAAPA Theater at the convention center.

Varney has more than 25 years of experience in the attractions industry and has led United Kingdom-based Merlin Entertainments since the company was formed in 1999.
