LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Announces Event Details for a Fun-Filled Holiday Season With Brick or Treat and Holidays Presented by Hallmark Channel

 

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (August 20, 2019) – LEGOLAND® Florida Resort kicks off the festivities in October with Brick or Treat and a spirted lineup of LEGO® festivities. The kid-friendly Halloween event will feature brand-new themed entertainment, more candy than ever before and ghoulish treats. In honor of LEGOLAND® Pirate Island Hotel opening in spring 2020, kids (ages 2-12) who come dressed as pirates for the first weekend of Brick or Treat will receive a complimentary ticket to visit the theme park before the end of year.   

Brick or Treat activities include trick or treating along a LEGO trail complete with lightly frightful character interactions, larger-than-life LEGO builds and meet-and-greet opportunities with seven event exclusive LEGO characters. Joining the spooky squad this year is LEGO Scarecrow inside DUPLO® Valley. Guests can sip in style with an event-themed Coca-Cola Freestyle® collector’s cup, indulge in Granny’s Apples Fries with Pumpkin flavored ice cream and nibble on a variety of Halloween-themed snacks. Experience the tale of Captain Dreadbeard’s adventure to defeat the Imperial Navy during a unique fireworks spectacular, A Tale of Pirates’ Cove, each night of the event.

(August 17, 2019) – Before his kids head back to school, Joey Fatone, member of the world-famous musical group *NSYNC and popular TV host, visited THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD with his two daughters, Briahna (18) and Kloey (9), to experience the ultimate Unikitty-themed weekend full of rainbows, positivity and theme park thrills. The second-time visitors and huge LEGOLAND® Florida Resort fans flew on Emmet’s Triple Decker Couch, soared to Cloud Cuckoo Land and battled DUPLO® aliens inside the theme park’s newest and largest expansion.

Fatone’s family was welcomed into THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD by the star of THE LEGO®  MOVIE™ films and youngest daughter’s favorite theme park character, Unikitty, before they reveled in each detail of the newest addition to the resort built for kids.

“All my little one wanted to do this summer is to go to Legoland, and I finally got some time off to come and enjoy,” said Fatone. “Can’t wait for Pirate Island Hotel opening next year.”

Father and Son Visit All LEGOLAND® Theme Parks Throughout the World In Less Than Two Weeks

WINTER HAVEN, FLA. (July 10, 2019) – Dieter Deussen and his five-year-old son Julian just completed the trip of a lifetime. 

In a span of 13 days, the duo from Germany visited seven different countries and eight different cities on their way to visiting all of the LEGOLAND®  Parks throughout the world!

“The key to this trip was to have fun and enjoy extensive time with my son,” said Deussen while embracing Julian. “It’s a memory that we’ll have forever.”

Deussen simply wanted to create a special experience for his young son before starting school for the very first time in September. Knowing that his son is a big LEGO® fan, Deussen suggested a “LEGOLAND World Tour.”

"It didn’t take more than a few seconds for Julian to say yes," said Deussen.

NASCAR Driver Aric Almirola Celebrates Independence Day With Visit to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

Popular NASCAR Winner Enjoys Family Time at the Theme Park Built for Kids
WINTER HAVEN, FLA. (July 5, 2019) – NASCAR driver Aric Almirola typically enjoys life in the fast lane. However, the two-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series winner and Florida native slowed down this week to spend some much beloved family time at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.

With his wife and two young children by his side, Almirola took in the sights and sounds of the park’s newest expansion, THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD. The family took to the skies on their triple decker couch while riding THE LEGO MOVIE: Masters of Flight, bounced in delight on Unikitty’s Disco Drop, climbed to the top of Benny’s Playship and finished with a family portrait taken directly from inside Emmet’s Super Suite.
“The new LEGO MOVIE WORLD was incredible. It makes you feel like you’re in the movie,” said Almirola. “That was one of my personal favorites and the kids loved it too.”
This weekend Almirola will be racing in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway against many of the world’s best drivers. And while the winning driver will live in triumph, Almirola will forever have the glory of placing ‘minilanders’ alongside his family inside the Daytona Speedway model.

Pirate Island Hotel, the newest on-site accommodation at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and first LEGO® Pirate hotel in North America, is now accepting reservations for stays starting May 22, 2020. Rising Star That Girl Lay Lay to Perform at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort on March 27 for THE LEGO® MOVIE WORLD Grand Opening

Who: Alaya High, widely known as the 12-year-old hip hop artist That Girl Lay Lay and the freestyle rapper in “The Catchy Song” from the animated adventure sequel THE LEGO® MOVIE™ 2: The Second Part.
With 40 million views across her social media channels and a worldwide viral hit from her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Alaya has been writing, producing, rapping and singing since the age of five. Alaya’s viral freestyles raps, filmed straight from the passenger seat of her father’s car, have already dazzled the top echelon of hip hop and pop culture fame with the likes of 50 Cent, Le’V eon Bell, Mindy Kaling and T.I.

This all-new pass is the perfect way to “test drive” an annual pass as the theme park revs up for the grand opening of THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD in spring 2019, the only place where THE LEGO®  MOVIE™ comes alive. Until then, brick fans can start their engines at The Great LEGO® Race which invites guests into a virtual world where they’re the star of a rollicking race against several LEGO minifigure competitors – all while taking an exciting roller coaster ride.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Offers Free Parking for Guests the Entire Month of August


Donations for Polk County Homeless Students Accepted by Visitors to Resort
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (July 31, 2018) – Summer is slipping away but before it does, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is encouraging guests to make the last moments memorable by offering free standard parking between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31.  Before shifting into back to school mode, guests can visit LEGOLAND Florida Resort to experience The Great LEGO® Race, the only virtual reality roller coaster built for kids. Plus, weekends this summer guests can catch an all-new variety show, Brick Builders and create a LEGO model for MINILAND USA at Build-A-Minilander inside Heartlake Hall.
Guests receiving the free parking are encouraged to bring new, unopened school supplies to donate to the Homeless Education Advocates Restoring the Hope program for Polk County Public Schools. Most needed items include pens, pencils, erasers, scissors and composition notebooks. Every donation will help make a difference in the lives of more than 4,000 students identified in a homeless situation in Polk County. Pre-purchased standard parking will be upgraded to shaded, premium parking free of charge. Premium Parking can be purchased for $27.  Awesome Annual Pass holders can upgrade to premium parking for $10. Only credit or debit card purchases will be accepted.

Veteran Military Employees Set Sail on Newly Restored Pirate Ship at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort


Brickbeard’s Bounty Returns After It Was Nearly Destroyed In Hurricane Irma

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (July 4, 2018) – LEGOLAND® Florida Resort celebrated its Model Citizens (employees) who fought for our nation by offering them the opportunity to set sail on Brickbeard’s Bounty as it made its way back to port at Pirate’s Cove.  The passengers proudly represented every branch of the military with more than 100 years of service combined.

In September 2017, the resort’s pirate ship was severely damaged during Hurricane Irma and following the storm, it was removed as a part of the water ski show.  Over the course of nearly 10 months, the ship was stripped down to its frame and completely rebuilt.  Restored to its former glory and topped off with new sails, Brickbeard’s Bounty is back and has taken back its place as the iconic centerpiece of the theme park’s popular water ski show.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort to Celebrate Independence Day With Biggest Fireworks Display of the Year


Red, White & Boom Offers an Exclusive LEGO® Build Activity, Patriotic Treats and More

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (June 26, 2018) – LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is set to launch its largest fireworks display of the year during Red, White & Boom. The annual Independence Day celebration features a day full of fun activities including a high-energy kid dance party and a giant LEGO flag build.

On July 4, an all-American array of treats join the theme park’s menu including a firecracker funnel cake dusted with popping candy, a dessert pizza complete with blueberries, icing and streusel crumbles and a celebratory churro covered in red or blue cinnamon topping.

When the sun goes down, guests are encouraged to wear special viewing glasses and look to the sky above Lake Eloise as it illuminates with LEGO bricks during a patriotic fireworks show. Red, White & Boom will take place from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and is included with park admission.

NEW for summer 2018

LEGOLAND Florida Resort also announced a brand new, free-of-charge, building activity. For a limited-time this summer, Build-A-Minilander will invite theme park guests to help build residents of MINILAND USA. Located at the heart of the kid-centric theme park, MINILAND USA contains more than 32 million LEGO bricks and scenes from coast to coast all the way to a galaxy far, far away! This building opportunity will be held inside Heartlake Hall from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.  “Minilanders” will later be placed within the LEGO cities of MINILAND USA by the resort’s Master Model Builders.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Partners with Autism Speaks in an Attempt to Break a World Record


WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (June 21, 2018) –  LEGOLAND® Florida Resort partnered with Autism Speaks to host more than 15 children on the autism spectrum for a 30-minute swimming lesson inside the water park’s LEGO® Wave Pool in an effort to help break a Guinness World Record.

The World's Largest Swimming Lesson™ is an event designed to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching kids to swim and help prevent drowning. LEGOLAND Florida Resort is one of hundreds of facilities in more than 20 countries on five continents participating in the event over the course of 24 hours.
