Spend Your Holiday Break at Orlando Science Center


Stargaze in the observatory, catch a holiday film and stroll alongside hundreds of gingerbread houses
WHAT:
If you are hosting guests or looking for something fun to do with the family this week, visit Orlando Science Center for a festive day or night out!

Gaze in wonder at Gingerbread Lane, our holiday traveling exhibit featuring more than 500 structures built completely with edible materials by chef Jon Lovitch. Then, see a festive film like “Merry Madagascar” or “The Nightmare Before Christmas!”

Plus, Orlando Science Center is open after dark on Friday and Saturday nights this winter for Star-Studded Evenings*. Visit the Crosby Observatory to gaze at stars, planets and other celestial objects, and catch a Hollywood movie in the Digital Adventure Theater.

*Please note that exhibit halls will be closed during Star-Studded Evenings.
WHEN:
General building hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, now through January 9. Orlando Science Center will be closed December 24 & 25.

Star-Studded Evenings: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays through February 24.

All activities above are included with general admission, which is free for members, $20.95 for adults, $18.95 for seniors and students, and $14.95 for youth (ages 3 – 11).

Happy Noon Year’s Eve! Count Down to 12:00 at Orlando Science Center

Noon Year’s Eve gives your little learners a chance to celebrate early
Sunday, December 31
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

WHAT:
Count down to the new year at noon instead of midnight! Leading up to the countdown, you can write your new year’s resolution and make party hats and crafts.
These activities will be offered on Level 4 before and after the stroke of noon in DinoDigs for the big countdown and streamer drop.
Complete your experience by visiting our current traveling exhibits Playing with Light and Gingerbread Lane; catch a giant-screen or 3D film; and check out all four floors of hands-on exhibits and more.
Don't forget to wear your favorite pajamas for the party!

Sunday, December 31 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Countdown at 12 p.m.
SPECIAL KIDSTOWN ACTIVITIES:
If you have young children, don't miss the new KidsTown Cultural New Year Countdown this year!

Learn how different cultures around the world celebrate the new year as the clock strikes midnight in their time zones. Make wishing spheres like in Singapore, craft your own Junkanoo mask like in the Bahamas, and much more!

KidsTown activities will be offered throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration Now Open for Winter Break Camps at Orlando Science Center

Give your children a productive and fun way to spend their days off school
Tuesday, December 26 – Friday, December 29, 2017
 Monday, January 1 – Friday, January 5, 2018
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with early & late care available

WHAT:
When school’s out, break camps are in at Orlando Science Center!

Full-day school break camps are offered for elementary students when Orange County Public Schools or Seminole County Public Schools are out of session.

This winter break, December topics are Whimsical Adventures with Jan Brett (Preschool), Pint-Sized Programmers (Grades K-2) and Cardboard Arcade (Grades 3-5). January’s topics are Nursery Rhyme Science (Preschool), Pet Vets (Grades K-2) and Anatomy Academy (Grades 3-5). Campers will participate in hands-on science activities and explore the Science Center’s exhibits.

To register for break camps, please go to osc.org/breakcamps. Walk-in registration will be open if space is still available.

Monday, Jan. 1 through Friday, Jan. 5, 2018
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early and late care are provided at no additional cost. Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and picked up as late as 6 p.m.
