FLORIDA - Port Canaveral to Host Fireworks Display Tuesday, July 3rd

Parking and new traffic plan emphasizes safety and organized exit

Port Canaveral, FL – June 29, 2018 – For the fourth year in a row, Port Canaveral will host the Fireworks Before the Fireworks, one of the area’s most popular Fourth of July events with fireworks and family-centered festivities on the lawn of the Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral. Events scheduled from 5 to 10 PM feature a family fun “street fair” with food, drinks, live music, face painting and other activities for kids provided by local vendors and businesses. The fireworks display will begin shortly after sunset. At 6:00 PM, the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU) will lead an opening ceremony with the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem.  Admission is free, and all guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Visitors to the Cove restaurants can utilize the free parking lot located on Mullet Road.

Port Canaveral, FL -- April 4, 2018 -- The future is bright for Port Canaveral, now home to forty-two new solar panels in the form of energy producing solar trees.  Port Canaveral has partnered with the Florida Power and Light (FPL) SolarNow™ program to plant solar trees at key locations at the Port where visitors can plug in, charge their devices, and enjoy the much-needed shade. The trees, located on the lawn of the Exploration Tower and Jetty Park, will showcase solar energy and generate zero emissions energy for many years to come.

FLORIDA - Port Canaveral to Host Carnival Elation Cruise Ship

Four and Five-Day cruises from Port Canaveral Starting May 2019

Port Canaveral, FL – December 7, 2017 – Port Canaveral will be the homeport for Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Elation as they launch a new year-round schedule of four- and five-day cruises beginning May 12, 2019. Carnival announced today that the newly renovated ship will encompass four-day “long weekend” cruises departing Thursdays to Freeport and Nassau and five-day voyages departing Mondays and Saturdays to Amber Cove and Grand Turk.

FLORIDA - Port Canaveral to Host New Royal Caribbean International Ships

Harmony of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas will homeport beginning 2019-2020 season

Port Canaveral, FL – November 8, 2017 – Port Canaveral has been selected to host two of the world’s newest and largest ships. In an announcement made by Royal Caribbean International, Oasis Class Harmony of the Seas will sail from Port Canaveral beginning May 2019, offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.  Voyager Class Mariner of the Seas returns to Port Canaveral with 3- and 4-night itineraries to The Bahamas. Both ships represent some of the best products in the cruise industry offering vacations to the Caribbean.

FLORIDA - New Cruise Terminal Design Work Gets Underway at Port Canaveral

Waterside engineering design services contract awarded to CH2M; 
site surveying and permitting process in progress

Port Canaveral, FL – Sept. 1, 2017 – Efforts are underway at Port Canaveral for a new cruise terminal. The Canaveral Port Authority (CPA) has contracted with CH2M Engineering to provide the waterside design, engineering and support services for Port Canaveral's new Cruise Terminal 3.  CPA Commissioners approved the $1.2 million funding for CH2M's project management contract at its June 7 meeting, taking the first step in a two-year work plan to build a state-of-the-art facility able to serve cruise vessels with up to 8,000 passengers calling on the Port. The new terminal will replace one of Port's oldest cruise terminals currently being used for single-day port of call vessels.

"Port Canaveral continues to experience growth in all sectors, and particularly in our cruise business," said Port Canaveral CEO Captain John Murray. "With 80 percent of our revenue from cruise operations, it's important that we continuously improve our capabilities to meet the current and future needs some of the world's largest, most sophisticated cruise ships."
