Families Enjoy Spook-tacular Halloween Savings as Kids Eat Free at TooJay’s from Oct. 26 - Nov. 4

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 18, 2018) – Little ghosts and goblins are in for a treat this Halloween as TooJay’s announces that Kids Eat Free with the purchase of one adult entrée from Friday, October 26 through Sunday, November 4. Children must be 12 and under and order from the Kid’s Menu only.  

The kids’ breakfast menu features French toast, half a Belgian waffle or an egg, along with a choice of two side items, including bacon strips, fresh fruit, toast and other popular choices. Topping the list of kid-friendly lunch and dinner favorites are hamburgers, mac & cheese, chicken strips, grilled cheese and deli dogs, along with two sides chosen from a selection of carrot sticks with Ranch dressing, Mandarin oranges, chocolate pudding, red grapes, French fries, apple sauce, or chocolate pudding, plus a famous TooJay’s mini black & white cookie. This special offer does not include beverages and cannot be combined with any other offers.

Founded in 1981, TooJay’s has grown to 28 restaurants throughout Florida and currently serves guests in Palm Beach and Broward counties, the Treasure Coast, the West Coast of Florida, the Orlando area, The Villages and Polk County. Donation will fund more than 275,000 meals for families in need

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 16, 2018) – TooJay's held its second annual “Too+You” campaign and raised $25,000 for Feeding Florida, a statewide network of Feeding America food banks providing a healthy, adequate and consistent food supply to those in need.

Throughout the month of September, $1 of every cake slice sold was donated to Feeding Florida. Guests also made donations by rounding up their checks throughout the month. Through the buying power of Feeding Florida, $1 provides 11 meals to those in need across the state. TooJay’s donation will fund more than 275,000 meals for food insecure families.

FALL INTO SEASON WITH FREE FESTIVAL AT LUCKY’S MARKET

Despite the still sizzling summer weather, fall has officially begun at Lucky’s Market stores throughout Florida. To celebrate the changing season, and showcase some of Florida’s most popular fall produce and seasonal products, the specialty grocer will host its annual ‘Fall Into Something Different Harvest Fest’ on Saturday, October 20, from 11 am – 4 pm, at each of its Florida locations. All event activities are free to the public.  

All Florida locations are stocking up on everything fall-flavored, including 15 varieties of apples, several types of squash, berries, pumpkin spice flavored cheeses, fall florals, and seasonal beer and wine, including an especially ghoulish ‘Trick” (red) or “Treat” (white) wine.

Sprouts Farmers Market to Open Winter Park Store October 24

First Orlando-area Sprouts to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida through Food Rescue program

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Oct. 10, 2018 – Sprouts Farmers Market will open its first Orlando-area store in Winter Park on Wednesday, October 24. The new store will help meet the growing local demand for fresh, natural and organic foods at great prices.  

Sprouts has been a driving force for making healthy food affordable and accessible since its inception and has paved the way for numerous natural brands. The new store will offer locally made products from Dakin Dairy, Floribbean, Goodie Girls Cookies, Kombucha 221 BC and Old Florida Gourmet.

TENNESSEE - DOLLY PARTON SELECTS THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS FOR SECOND PIRATES VOYAGE DINNER AND SHOW

The Water Spectacular is Slated to Open in Spring 2019

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn, (Thursday, October 4, 2018) – Keep an eye to the spyglass, mateys; Dolly’s pirates will be searching for treasure in the Great Smoky Mountains, next summer!

After nearly a decade of rave reviews and financial success on the Carolina coast, Dolly Parton’s newest Pirates Voyage dinner attraction is slated to open in the spring. “The show has been so successful in Myrtle Beach that we kept looking at Pigeon Forge and wondering why we didn’t already have a Pirates show there,” Parton said. “We have the perfect location, in one of the hottest areas of Pigeon Forge, and the time is now for my pirates to stake claim to the Great Smoky Mountains!”

When complete, the 21,000 square foot arena, adjacent to The Island in Pigeon Forge, will be the stage for Crimson and Sapphire pirates to battle on deck, in the water and in the sky above their full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon. Spectacular acrobatic competitions, live animals and an original music score by Parton and Mark Brymer creates an immersive adventure experience all while guests enjoy a spectacular four-course pirate feast.

“We’re glad we can finally share Dolly’s exciting news,” Jim Rule, World Choice Investments CEO said.  “For some time, we have been working on set and costume designs, unique show elements for this theater and animal and staff training. We’re all looking forward to opening in 2019.”

Additional details about the project will be released soon.  Site construction is slated to begin in early January with an opening projected for spring.

Key West’s Goombay Festival to Blend Music, Food and Island Spirit

KEY WEST, Florida Keys — High-energy family fun, entertainment and multicultural taste treats await revelers Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20, during the annual Goombay street festival.

The lively festival runs from noon to midnight both days, with the action centered on Petronia Street in the heart of Key West’s historic Bahama Village neighborhood. Attractions include live music, food and a spirited celebration of the cultural connection between Key West and the Bahamas.

Goombay weekend marks the beginning of Fantasy Fest, Key West’s 10-day masking and costuming gala. The 2018 festival is themed “Oh … The Games We Play!” and is scheduled Friday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 28. 

Each year Goombay attracts thousands of people ranging from national and international visitors to Florida Keys residents who have made attending the event a local tradition.

(Sept. 12, 2018) – This year, “Halloween Horror Nights” brings a taste of Hawkins, Indiana to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort inviting guests to enjoy foods inspired by Netflix’s “Stranger Things” that also complement the terrifying “Stranger Things” mazes debuting at both parks. “Halloween Horror Nights” begins on Friday, September 14, 2018.

The specialized foods were created by the executive chef and culinary teams at each park to further enhance the already immersive “Halloween Horror Nights” experience.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2018) - The annual fall celebration at Marlow’s Tavern features iconic Florida-grown ingredients and unparalleled creativity in the kitchen, along with friendly competition at all Marlow’s Orlando neighborhood gathering spots now through Oct. 15.
 
Marlow’s Tavern executive chef, CEO and co-founder John C. Metz has issued an “Iron Chef” challenge to the tavern chefs and bartenders to use three signature Florida-grown ingredients as the starting point for a featured entrée, starter, dessert or cocktail. The ingredients – cheese, rice and honey - come from Cypress Pointe Creamery, Congaree and Penn Farm and Mills and My Sweetest Honey.
