Now open at the multi-day vacation destination, The Great LEGO® Race invites guests into a virtual world where they’re the star of a rollicking race against several LEGO minifigure competitors — all while taking an exciting roller coaster ride.

Wearing optional VR headsets while riding the roller coaster, guests experience the point of view of a LEGO race car driver with action taking place in every direction — up, down, forward, backward and all points in between — in a dazzling environment where everything is made of LEGO bricks.

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – January 24, 2018)   One of the world’s most famous battle sites, the Alamo, is being recreated through an unparalleled union of historical scholarship and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Alamo Reality’s Experience Real History™:  Alamo Edition, is set to debut March 1, 2018 during San Antonio’s 300th birthday celebration and the 182nd anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo. Currently, the Alamo is the most-visited site in Texas. This interactive photoreal journey back in time will greatly enhance the overall visitor experience, and is expected to increase the time and quality of visitation. 

The Alamo Reality app will be free and available to download on both iOS and Android devices. The app enables users to explore over a dozen geo-targeted locations on the Alamo grounds where AR technologies will overlay the historic footprint of the Alamo onto the present-day site and incorporate the powerful stories of the diverse people who made it famous. The historic battlefield, now located in the center of downtown San Antonio, will be transformed into what it looked like before, during and after the famous 1836 battle.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Surprises Project X’s Last Rider as Roller Coaster Begins Transformation into The Great LEGO® Race

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Jan. 9, 2018) — After entertaining millions of guests from around the world, the Project X roller coaster at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort celebrated its last rider Jan. 8 before it transforms into The Great LEGO® Race, a fun new attraction that will add an exciting virtual reality story to the existing coaster track.

Young guest Rowan Lewis was making his first visit to the popular theme park when, at 5:05 p.m., he became the last child to ride Project X in its current form. Upon exiting, the Seattle resident was surprised with a brick-built trophy from LEGO pirate Captain Brickbeard in recognition of Rowan’s unique achievement. The shy boy then received a second surprise – an invitation to return as the theme park’s special guest when The Great LEGO Race opens in Spring 2018.

The Great LEGO Race is the first virtual reality (VR) roller coaster experience designed for kids and represents the first time the LEGO brand and minifigure characters have been integrated with VR technology in a theme park attraction.

(Nov. 15, 2017) — A sneak preview of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s upcoming virtual reality (VR) roller coaster adventure is now available through an innovative mobile app that lets fans experience the 360-degree theme park action with or without a VR headset. The Great LEGO® Race opens Nov. 22 at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, followed in Spring 2018 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Germany’s LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort.

Developed under the supervision of Merlin Magic Making, the global creative and delivery division of parent company Merlin Entertainments Group, The Great LEGO Race will transform the three theme parks’ existing Project X roller coasters into a high-octane experience that puts guests in the driver’s seat for a rollicking race against a colorful lineup of LEGO minifigure characters.

The immersive and interactive VR attraction will invite guests to embark on a time travel adventure, which will transport them to a futuristic version of Knott’s western town of Calico. Players will be met by robotic creations and embark on a daring mission with other groups of players to defend the town.

REVIEW: Main Event Entertainment at Pointe Orlando


Recently opened at Pointe Orlando on International Drive, Main Event is a 45,000 square foot, master entertainment complex, combining state-of-the-art gaming, interactive play, virtual reality, traditional games such as bowling and billiards, and an extensive food and drink menu. Though new to Orlando, Main Event is not new to the entertainment scene. The thriving national fun hub also has locations in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ohio, Tennessee, Kansas, New Mexico, Kentucky and Jacksonville, Florida.

Orlando's Main Event features bowling, video games, billiards, gravity ropes, and (arguably the highlight) V Play Reality - the first free-roam, multi-player virtual reality game in the United States.

New Space Visor from Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Offers Enhanced Visitor Experience Anywhere!


CAPE CANAVERAL - (January 12, 2017) - KENNEDY SPACE CENTER - Experience space as only NASA astronauts have before with the new, custom-designed Space Visor virtual reality headset and mobile applications available exclusively at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Available for purchase at visitor complex gift shops and online at TheSpaceShop.com, the Space Visor transports users to a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS), where they can explore inside and learn about each module, and then to the surface of the moon on a rocky lunar rover ride.  Other experiences include visits to restricted areas at the visitor complex such as the Gemini IX and Apollo 14 capsules and more. The headset can be used while at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and then from anywhere else a user might be.
