(November 9, 2018) – The City of Winter Park and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra invite you to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season at their annual Holiday Pops concert Sunday, December 2, at 4 p.m., in charming Central Park. A Holiday Festival is a free public concert and is made possible by the Charlotte Julia Hollander Trust. Bring a blanket and pack a picnic for a concert program that has become a family tradition in central Florida.

Enjoy beautiful Central Park as Conductor Albert George Schram leads the Philharmonic in a beautiful program featuring familiar favorites as well as surprise selections. Highlights will include instrumentals such as “Carol of the Bells,” “Sleigh Ride,” as well as vocal selections featuring Natalie Cordone and Shawn Kilgore including “White Christmas,” and a joyful Christmas sing-a-long.

Sprouts Farmers Market to Open Winter Park Store October 24

First Orlando-area Sprouts to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida through Food Rescue program

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Oct. 10, 2018 – Sprouts Farmers Market will open its first Orlando-area store in Winter Park on Wednesday, October 24. The new store will help meet the growing local demand for fresh, natural and organic foods at great prices.  

Sprouts has been a driving force for making healthy food affordable and accessible since its inception and has paved the way for numerous natural brands. The new store will offer locally made products from Dakin Dairy, Floribbean, Goodie Girls Cookies, Kombucha 221 BC and Old Florida Gourmet. 

Grand Opening Details 
Sprouts will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new store located at 1999 Aloma Avenue before doors open at 7 a.m. The public is invited to join the festivities and shop among thousands of healthy items offered throughout the 30,000-square-foot store.

Annual Pink Off Park Celebration and Fundraiser Event Returns Friday, October 19 in Winter Park

Proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Care Fund at Florida Hospital Foundation
WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 5, 2018) – Pink Off Park (formerly Pink Bash) is an annual community celebration and fundraiser event designed to bring breast cancer awareness to Central Florida in an interactive, uplifting way. Pink Off Park features a survivor fashion show, live music, pink carpet photos, a silent auction, enter-to-win prizes and more -- all to support the cause and honor those that are fighting, have been touched or have lost their battle to breast cancer. 
Pink Off Park, produced by Orlando Sentinel Media Group, is a FREE event to attend with options to purchase food and drink sampling passports. One hundred percent of the passport proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Care Fund at Florida Hospital Foundation.

Healthy grocer seeking 140 new team members for Winter Park store

PHOENIX, Ariz. – July 11, 2018 – Sprouts Farmers Market, one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country, today announced it will open its first Orlando-area store in Winter Park, Fla. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 to help meet the growing local demand for fresh, natural and organic foods at great prices. Sprouts currently operates five stores in the state and has announced plans to expand in Florida with stores in Clearwater, Deerfield Beach, Naples, Oviedo, Riverview, Trinity and Wellington. More Sprouts locations opening in Florida will be announced soon.

Cocina 214 Hosts Sixth Annual Running of the Chihuahuas Event This Cinco de Mayo Weekend

Winter Park, Fla. – April 23, 2018 – On Sunday, May 6, Cocina 214 - Central Florida’s famed Tex-Mex restaurant, will host its sixth annual Running of the Chihuahuas event at its Winter Park location. This family-friendly event invites locals, visitors and pet-lovers alike to continue the Cinco De Mayo celebration with the beloved Chihuahua run, fresh margaritas, authentic Tex-Mex cuisine and festive delights. Proceeds from the Chihuahua run will benefit Winter Park Lost Pets and the Poodles and Pooch Rescue of Florida.

“We are so proud to see our cherished Running of the Chihuahuas race has become a Central Florida tradition during the Cinco de Mayo weekend and we can’t wait to bring this event to life for the sixth year in a row,” said Lambrine Macejewski, co-founder of Cocina 214. “Last year, we had an amazing turnout – we hope to do the same this year and create a fun and engaging experience for all our guests.”

As the pups gear up to race, attendees can enjoy music from a live DJ, take pictures with their furry friends in a custom photo booth and enjoy delicious drink specials from Cocina 214’s outdoor bar.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the famed Running of Chihuahuas race at 11 a.m. There is no entrance fee for spectators. Those with Chihuahuas ready to race can register their pooches for $15, where all proceeds will be donated to Winter Park Lost Pets and the Poodles and Pooch Rescue of Florida.
